Notes:
2086 Melipotis jucunda (Listed as stray?)
We get it in Port Alberni virtually every year. Have records of it every summer from early June to early July, for 2009 – 2104 inclusive. Relatively low numbers, ranging from 2 – 8 individuals recorded. In 2010, I sent 6 individuals to BOLD all of which were confirmed. (Didn’t show up last summer but 2015 was a poor year overall, both in terms of numbers and species - I assume because of the drought. We were also away for 10 days late June-early July so might also have missed it.) Pacific Northwest Moth website says it’s a year-round resident in the Pacific Northwest overwintering as a larvae. (L. Avis)
